All the Pretty Blossoms

Summer brings peaches and all their bounty. Fall leaves light the hills with a golden glow. December snow coats trees in winter’ s lace, But in spring they really put on a show.
When the dark clouds of winter turn to spring, Buds await their cue from a warming sun. Soon blooms flood the fields in a sea of pink With a view that can never be outdone.
A carnival of colors fills each row With a feast of beauty for human eyes. While other fruits try their best to impress, All the pretty peach blossoms win the prize.
prefer to nest in large colonies in open areas. So, for our 2025 season of birdhouse gourds, we purchased a colony pole to hang many birdhouses together. As we wait for the purple martins to migrate north, we are tracking their progress via the Purple Martin Conservation Association’ s“ Scout Arrival Study” online: https:// www. purplemartin. org / research / 8 / scout-arrival-study /. I can’ t wait to hear their songs.
Rise up this morning, Smile with the rising sun, Three little birds pitch by my doorstep Singin’ sweet songs Of melodies pure and true, Singin’,“ This is my message to you.”

When my time on this earth comes to an end And my winters no longer turn to spring, I will find my way back to the orchards To see all the beauty each April brings.
My spirit may come on a honey bee Or a drop of dew on a petal fair. You won’ t be able to see or hear me, So just close your eyes and think of me there.
61 Vineyard is a new on-farm winery in Montgomery County’ s Agricultural Reserve. Our first vintage was 2020, and our tasting room doors opened in October 2021.
