Dancing Leaf Dyeworks , nestled in the foothills of Sugarloaf Mountain , is home to a few sheep that provide some of the wool for Dalis Davidson ’ s fiber endeavors . Dalis dyes yarn her signature vibrant colors for use in the hand-knit items displayed in her farm ’ s cottage studio . She also creates nuno-felted , one-of-a-kind wearables . For 2-D work , she uses wool , silk , yarn , lace and ribbon , and “ paints ” landscapes she calls “ lambscapes .” dancingleafdyeworks
Jennifer Hamilton is a contemporary ceramic artist creating functional pottery for sale and offering opportunities for those who want to learn more about the processes for making pottery . Her studio , Dusty Road Pottery , is housed in a repurposed dairy barn located near the base of Sugarloaf Mountain . Using both the wheel and hand building techniques , she prints on clay with textures from found and created materials , utilizing slips , ceramic stains and glazes to achieve colorful and food safe finishes . These uniquely handmade , tactile pieces are intended to be held and used for special occasions , everyday , and as a way to celebrate the simple and special things in life , such as sharing a good meal .

Meet Foster Holcombe , who studied glassblowing in Stourbridge , the heart of England ’ s glass industry , and Theda Hansen who joined Foster in 1985 . They moved their studio to Montgomery

Bev Thoms uses the exquisitely beautiful wool fiber harvested from her farm flock in Dickerson to create unique felted art for body and home . She designs and fashions vests , scarves , accessories and wraps , table wear , wall art , blankets and sofa throws . Thoms utilizes the ancient art of felting and specialized dyeing techniques , often combining silk and viscose fiber into many of her pieces .
