Here are examples of how pause and curiosity lead to creative adventures in painting . As an abstract painter , I focus on nature ’ s impact on my life through colors , shapes , and textures . While the positive impact of nature on our nervous systems and mental health has been documented , I can — and many of my fellow artists , like the local female painters featured here — attest to its positive energy when it comes to developing our craft . May these artworks be an invitation to you to explore the natural assets of our local parks , forests , and other wild areas in the Reserve . Mary Oliver would surely encourage you go get out on the path . You never know what you may discover .
