For
the
Birds
They are incredibly beautiful.
They are very intelligent. They
are highly interactive and quite
entertaining. But if you have ever
considered bringing one of these
magnificent birds into your home
as an avian companion, it would
be wise to make a visit to the Ga-
ruda Aviary on River Road in the
Agricultural Reserve. There you
will meet Christopher Zeoli, the
devoted, full-time, seven-days-a-
week parrot whisperer of a large
flock of these exotic birds that
were neglected, abused or given
up by their owners. His mission:
To educate the public about the
huge commitment, responsibility
and difficulty of keeping parrots
as pets, and to addressing the
tragic effects of the cruel and
inhumane parrot trade.

Garuda Aviary is a rescue and sanctuary, providing lifelong care for parrots. It is currently home
to more than 50 parrots. The aviary does not adopt-out the birds; they remain at the sanctu-
ary for the rest of their natural lives.
