Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp Annual Reports Annual Report 2016 | Page 6
This June, the summer leadership team discovered a promotional flyer published by Wooster Presbytery Camp in 1958. This was the first year that summer camp operated at this property.
The world has changed since 1958. The internet arrived, sunglasses became telephones, and Panda Bears are no longer an endangered species.
Camp has also changed. Wooster Outdoor Center became Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp, wagons evolved into air conditioned cabins, and $ 22 dollars no longer pays for a week of camp.
Despite these changes, one thing stays the same. The original flyer from 1958 reads,“ Our purpose as we unite in the camp program is to become such complete disciples of Christ that we will discover God’ s will for our lives and do it.”
49 years later, Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp remains a place where people from every background can experience how much Jesus loves them, discover His will for their lives, and follow Him.
As we celebrate the past and embrace the future, Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp always endeavors to glorify Christ, benefit the Community, and Conserve natural resources.
The more things change...
