welcome
to the winter issue of Playtimes.
W
hile we don’t want to get political at Playtimes, it would be remiss of us not to acknowledge the current situation
in Hong
Kong . As we go to print, schools remain closed and many businesses are struggling. Events,
such as Hong Kong’s beloved Clockenflap, have been cancelled and many upcoming events will be subject
to change. We hope the small businesses of Hong Kong are able to weather this tumultuous period. We will
offer our support wherever possible and we ask our readers to do the same. We will endeavor to keep our readers up to date
with events via our website and social media. If you are able to visit one of Christmas
fairs in order to support the small
independent vendors , please do. If you are also able to safely visit your local restaurant, please do. These guys
are hurting.
While we ask ourselves is it right to be focusing on fun things when so many are currently struggling, we have taken the
view that our children still deserve to live life and that celebrating Christmas should still be an option. So, in order to add
a little Christmas spirit , we highlight Christmas fairs, events happening around town, Christmas camps and some holiday
shopping ideas.
You’ll also find some informative articles on a variety of hot health topics – such as the HPV vaccine for boys and the
importance of maintaining pelvic floor muscles – as well as some
Vittachi has to say about the real Santa.
