Description: Suzhou Singapore International School (SSIS) is situated in
Suzhou Industrial Park and serves the academic needs to the expatriate
community in Suzhou and the surrounding area. Having grown in size
and reputation since its opening, SSIS offers continuous educational
programmes from Nursery to Grade 12.

Curriculum: International, Baccalaureate Programme (PYP, MYP, DP) and
North American style High School Programme.
Frequency and Duration of Mandarin Classes: Early Years and
Elementary school students will have 40 minutes of Chinese instruction
daily. Secondary students will have one class dedicated to Chinese as a
second language as part of the curriculum if they so choose.
Mandarin Curriculum: Mandarin classes are designed to encourage a
broader understanding of both the Chinese language and the culture.
Facilities: Suzhou Singapore International School is located on a 10 hectare
site. Our modern campus includes facilities such as a 25 metre heated
swimming pool, two FIFA certified artificial turf soccer fields, tennis courts,
running track, two libraries, two double gymnasiums and an air purification
system throughout. Specialty rooms include eight science labs, six art
rooms, five music rooms, ten music practice rooms, a performing arts
centre, and a black box theatre.
SEN Support: Our Learning Support team is made up of specially trained
teachers that have the background to assist students in their learning
needs. Our team provides individualised support to both students
and homeroom teachers. Learning Support may include classroom
accommodations, programme modifications, in-class support and small
group or individualised programming.

Parents: There are many ways parents can become involved. The
Elementary and Secondary Schools hold regular parent gatherings on a
range of topics and parents can volunteer for activities such as the ‘Support
a Reader’ programme, drama production and sports teams.
University Information: College Counsellors begin working with students
in Grade 9 and increase their assistance and guidance into Grades 11 and
12. Over the course of the year, SSIS receives many visits from universities
world-wide. During these visits, our students and families are able to gather
information about the courses offered, ask questions, and explore the
possibilities each institution may offer.
