Description: Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong was the first in the Dulwich College International family of schools, opening in 2003 in the Jinqiao District of Pudong. Since opening its doors with just 23 students, the College now educates approximately 1500 students from age 2 to age 18, with over forty different nationalities represented in our diverse student body. Our links to Dulwich College, founded in 1619, are strong, and we collaborate closely with the other schools in the network to encourage an international outlook and create an extended community where academic ability is fostered, creativity is valued, and diversity is celebrated. Mandarin Curriculum: To meet the learning needs of each student, the Dulwich Mandarin curriculum employs three pathways: Mandarin A: Chinese as a Native Language, Mandarin B: Mandarin as a Second Language and Mandarin C: Mandarin as a Foreign Language. Facilities: Shared facilities include a theatre with two drama black boxes, music classrooms, a recording studio and five individual music practice rooms. For sports, there are two gymnasiums, a dance studio, function room, 25-metre six lane FINA swimming pool and training pool. Ducks students have their own building with a music classroom and library. There are play areas with shade, a running track, tennis courts and a Toddler unit. Junior School students have their own film studio, which includes an editing suite, Maker Space, The Lab (science laboratory), an art room and a fully stocked library. They also have access to outdoor classrooms and outdoor play areas with shade. The Senior School has basketball courts, large sports fields and shaded external areas.
