Description: An IB World School, CDNIS is authorised to deliver the PYP,
MYP and DP programmes. CDNIS is the only school in the world outside of
Ontario, Canada where students graduate with both the IB Diploma and the
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). These two diplomas provide
students with tremendous opportunities to secure university places with
no additional academic burden. CDNIS places a high degree of importance
on the development of the whole child. Students are encouraged to
maintain a balance between academics and extra-curricular opportunities,
which allows them to thrive at the top post-secondary institutions they are

Curriculum: IB programme (IB DP, IB MYP and IB PYP). The Ontario
Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is also awarded to Grade 12 graduates.

Frequency and Duration of Mandarin Classes:
- Pre Rec to Rec One full day of Mandarin immersion per week
- Prep to Grade 4 40 minutes, 7 times per week
- Grades 5 to 6 40 minutes, 6 times per week
- Grades 7 to 8 80 minutes every second day
- Grades 9 to 10 80 minutes every second day (either Mandarin or French)
- Grades 11 to 12 85 minutes every second day (either Mandarin, French,
or Spanish)
Age students begin to learn Mandarin as Second Language: 3 years old.
Mandarin Curriculum: Our Chinese Studies Department stands as one of
the finest among the English language schools in Hong Kong. The programme
aims to provide an education in both oral and written Mandarin and is
promoted as an additional language for all students. We are able to cater to
learners of all levels.
Other Languages Available: French is offered from Grade 7 to Grade 12,
and is compulsory from Grade 7-8. Additionally, Spanish is offered from
Grade 11-12.
Features: CDNIS students achieve some of the highest IB results in the
world, with 13 members of the Class of 2018 achieving a score of 43 or
more. We are a tight-knit school community, with 50% of the Class of 2019
joining CDNIS in Grade 1 or before.
Facilities: The over 42,000 square metre CDNIS campus occupies 14
levels and is equipped with excellent state-of-the-art facilities including a
design studio, science and innovation labs, 604-seat theatre, swimming
pool and two indoor gymnasiums. Younger students will benefit from a
new Early Years Environment, opening in August 2019.

Transport: Bus services are offered by an external service provider and fees
vary depending on the distance travelled from home to school. The school is
located near Wong Chuk Hang MTR station on the South Island Line.
