Description: Our school prides itself on embracing Australian values whilst

Debenture Info: The payment of the Capital Levy is mandatory if a
debenture is not held for the student. The levy amount is reviewed each year
and in 2019 will be HKD$21,000 per student per annum. The capital levy is
payable annually.
Admission: Applying to enter Australian International School Hong
Kong is quick and easy. If you wish to enrol your child in our school, you
can download and complete the Application Form. The completed Form
should be returned to the Admissions Office together with the requested
documents listed on the front page.
Transport: School bus service available.
Parents: The school has a parental involvement policy which recognises
that parents are partners in the education process of their child. Parents are
actively encouraged to participate in school activities.

Curriculum: The two streams of study offered in the Senior years lead
students to achieving one of two accredited qualifications, the Higher
School Certificate (HSC) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
Both qualifications provide a pathway to higher level tertiary education at
respected universities in Australia and around the world.
Frequency and Duration of Mandarin Classes: 1 lesson daily from Primary.
Age students begin to learn Mandarin as Second Language: 3 years old
Mandarin Curriculum: The study of Chinese is mandatory from Reception to
Year 6. The official policy in Australia is that Mandarin is the Chinese language
(all other forms are dialects) and that it is taught using simplified characters.
The programme will enable AISHK students to sit for an Australian Higher
School Certificate or IB Diploma examination in Year 12 and qualify for further
studies at university. The Chinese programme emphasises communication
through talking and listening, reading, responding and writing. A learner-
centred approach is used which actively involves the students in a wide variety
of activities. Chinese classes are streamed according to ability and background
from Year 2 onwards.
SEN Support: No, AISHK is a parent funded not for profit school. We
do not have the resources to provide IEPs or other required special
needs programmes.
