Description: Jockey Club Sarah Roe School (JCSRS) is part of the
English Schools Foundation (ESF). It is a special school for children
aged 5-19 with special educational needs (SEN). The school is a
specialist resource that supports students with a wide range of
individual needs including students with moderate to severe or
complex learning disabilities and students with autism. All students
leaving the school at the end of their educational career do so with
a record of achievement and a portfolio of work that is accredited
by ASDAN, an awarding body that is recognised by further
education, commerce and industry. Description: Special Educational Service for Children diagnosed with
Autism Spectrum Disorder plus therapy support. A non-profit organisation
established in 1999 to provide support to children and families affected by
Autism; and serving the low-income families by providing subsidised fees.

per class, 2 speech and language therapists, 2 occupational
therapists, 1 physiotherapist, 1 part time music therapist and 3
therapy assistants.

Curriculum: The classroom adopts the TEACCH (Treatment and
Education of Autistic and Communication Handicapped Children) training
methodology and multi-disciplinary approach.
Hours: 8:50am-2:45pm
Curriculum: Teachers and therapists have collaboratively
developed the JCSRS curriculum framework that aligns with the
ESF PYP curriculum and the Essential Elements Framework. We
also stay up to date by researching leading practices in special
education from across the world. We cover three units of work
per year as well as modules of work from the ASDAN - Towards
Independence’ programme.
Features: JCSRS is a purpose built international special school
which provides a quality, inclusive education. Staff work as a multi-
disciplinary team to ensure all students can access the curriculum
and be the best they can be. As students move towards the more
senior years they participate in vocational education programmes
that prepare them for post school life.
Facilities: The school has a range of excellent facilities including a
hydrotherapy pool, specially designed changing and toileting areas, a
sensory integration room, a multi-sensory room, Independent Living
Skills provision, Expressive Arts Zone, medical and therapy rooms.
Accreditations: ASDAN programme; in 2015 we became one
of only four special schools in the world to be accredited by the
Council of International Schools (CIS).

Features: Our classes are small, with a maximum of seven students
per class, and staffed with well-qualified and experienced teachers with
special education training background.
Facilities: Fully equipped occupational therapy room, certified therapists
(OT & ST) with experience working with ASD children and children with
other special needs.
Inspection: Under the supervision and guidelines as stipulated by EDB and
an active Rainbow Board member.
