Make sure you choose to visit a family-friendly
festival. Consider how appropriate it is for your
family. Will you camp or stay in a nearby hotel?
Be aware of the weather. Pack appropriate clothing
for all weather – wet, dry, warm or cold. That means
sun hat and sunscreen as well as a raincoat and
wellington boots.

Also pack:
• Medication
• Snacks in case your child doesn’t like the food
options available
• Toilet paper and wet wipes
• A refillable water bottle
• A flashlight and perhaps some LED jewellery to
keep track of your child at night
• A small blanket for the children to sit on during
activities
• Consider taking noise-cancelling headphones,
such as Baby Banz, to protect little one’s ears.
• Take a few toys – bubbles, frisbee, ball etc.
• A potty (even for toilet-trained children) avoids
walking to the toilets in the middle of the night.

Some festivals provide wristbands for children so
as to make the parent’s contact number available.
If that’s not an option, take your own wristband or
write your contact number on your child’s wrist.
Make a plan with your children on what to do if they
get separated.

Take a photograph of your kids when you arrive so
that you know exactly what they are wearing if they
get lost.
Remember to go at your kids' pace!
