education Jane Archibald, Nord Anglia “Sports day is a fun opportunity for children to take part in a range of sports and to experience an element of competition as well as team games. The aim is for all of the pupils to have a positive experience and to participate in a variety of events, both in teams and as individuals. There are ‘House’ events which add to the enjoyment of the day, with everyone routing for their team. “The school offers an extensive number of squads and teams (we have over 60 throughout the school) so our Primary children have many options when it comes to competing. These are run or led by our experienced and dedicated team of specialist PE teachers. Types of teams include gymnastics, horse riding, netball, athletics, swimming, football, rugby, cross-county running, cricket, basketball, tennis, volley ball to name a few. We take part in local competitions in HK against both local and international schools and also compete in competitions around the world such as the COBIS Games and the Nord Anglia Global Games China.” 58 www.playtimes.com.hk
