Velveteen
We’ve got exciting news for fans of Velveteen, the premium children’s fashion
brand loved by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman,
Ashlee Simpson and the Kardashians, to name a few. Velveteen has opened its
first-ever concept store right here in Hong Kong, in Lee Gardens Two, Causeway
Bay. With its own interactive ‘selfie’ wall and impressive natural light technology
to keep those smiles bright, children will love a trip to the store. And keep your
eyes peeled for exciting events at the store throughout the season. Fashion
shows and workshops, including art and illustration classes, opportunities to
design your own doll’s dress and how to use fabric scraps to make beautiful
accessories, are in the pipeline. www.velveteen.com
Shop for a Cause
The Playtimes team loves a bit of retail therapy.
We could easily shop ’til we drop, so the prospect
of shopping for a good cause is right up our
street. Wyndham Street, in fact. Head to Lilya on
Wyndham Street between 10am-6pm on 2 May
to shop for a cause. Brands including Cochine,
Marijoli, Apartment 49 and Boho Betty will be selling
their wares, with proceeds going to Mother’s Choice
and Room-to-Read. You can also enjoy Moroccan
cocktails and have an express mani courtesy of The
Feel Good Factor.
Conrad Summer Fair
Kit yourself out for the summer. The Conrad hosts
the annual Prestige Summer Fair on 4 June at
10am-7pm. You will find hundreds of one-day, pop-
up stores displaying unique items that you won’t
find in regular stores around Hong Kong. It’s the
perfect place to buy gifts for friends and family, or for
yourself, of course! www.prestigefairs.hk
