the picturesque, downtown Rockport Harbor,
this event offers live musical entertainment,
food, fun, contests, children’s activities, a vintage style show, Christmas festivities, colorful
kites in the sky over the bay and lots of vendors.
An all-inclusive “family” event, a special and
really fun part of Tropical Christmas is entering your fur-child in the Pet Costume Contest!
Whether or not you have a pet, this contest is
an absolute joy to see all the clever costumes
and adorable pets. Proceeds benefit the Rockport-Fulton Humane Society
Back by popular demand, is the national sensation, “Cast in Bronze,” the only musical act
in the world featuring a 4-ton medieval folk
instrument with 35 huge brass bells called a
Carillon. “Cast in Bronze” has been featured at
Florida’s Epcot Center, on NBC’s “Today” show,
a Presidential Inauguration, and at all major
Renaissance Festivals across the USA!!
Also playing during this tropical extravaganza
is the Scott Taylor Band, recipient of the Texas Music Award for best album! You’ll also be
treated to the dynamic moves of the “Pacific
Islander Dancers” and their “Fire Dancer;” the
famous Captain Rex’s Pirate Show, and the
awesomely talented Kinetic Movement Dancers and other super gifted local performers.
But wait! What about the kiddos? Not to worry, there are a slew of fun events they will
love. Like the bouncy inflatable games, dressing up as their favorite pirate and taking part
in the “Pirates of Aransas Bay” Costume Contest. What a blast! And, they’ll love searching
for pirate booty in the “Run for Yar Treasure”
Pirate Treasure Hunt! As if all this great fun
wasn’t awesome enough, there’s also an Ornament-making Workshop at the Rockport
Center for the Arts, visits with Santa and Mrs.
Claus, and a hands-on, fun and educational
display at the Texas Parks & Wildlife Wetlands
Education Van.
