Platinum Kids January 2016 vol 1 May/June 2016 Vol 3 | Page 41

In today's era, today's society, which is 2016, technology has advanced and has improved since the day it was first invented. However, I have never visioned it to be quite so advance and as improved. It is all well and good for adults to use the newest piece of tech and gadget. But are children really safe to use it?

Are their imaginations still intact using laptops, iphones and tablets? I myself have turned nineteen and I myself remember playing with wooden train sets, dress up and painting. I also remember playing with my friends outside, building tree houses, caves, playing tag on the school playground and making up imaginary games.

Today, I see children of that age playing on their video games

and their touch screen tablets. Does this mean their imagination has been pushed to the back of their brains? Forgotten? I have seen in todays new family films and comedies of parents telling their kids to go outside and play and make a den or make a tire swing or even play down at their local park. To which their

response being no, they would rather stay indoors and watch the latest episode of Game of thrones or play Candy Crush.

I see children ageing from two years old up to the age of thirteen. The ideal age to still be playing with their dolls

and their imaginary friends. Instead of staying indoors glued to a screen.

So children of today, as you read this. What would you rather do? Go outside in the sun and play by the seaside, play tag with your friends and make daisy chains? Or would you rather stay indoors all of the time on your iphones,

tablets, computers and video games?
