In the Early Days of IMVU the interaction of the Person and not the Avatar was the Focus of our Favorite Social Platform, the Extent of Relationship used to be the Listing of a “special Someone” on your Home Page and implied an actual personal connection to the person that was special to you.
With the Introduction of new abilities, and things like the Marriage Package, personal connections have gone the way of the do-do bird and is practically extinct in imvu. People have forgotten that AVATARS Have NO Emotions.
The people Behind the Avatar is where the emotion comes from …. And when we choose to simply play Romance instead of taking the time to build a relationship with the PEOPLE we encounter, we miss out on the reward of possibly making a new friend.
Now, I’m no fool, I know that today we have many Lurkers that are simply here to Exploit as many people as they possibly can, but that’s even more reason to set aside this mentality of Instant Gratification, and take the time to get to know the Person that you are interested in.
Spend Time with them, especially around their friends, a person is more likely to be themselves around people that they are familiar with. Ask questions that are relevant to the characteristics you are looking for in a person. Ask the Same Question multiple times, if a person is playing games with you then more than likely their answers may deviate at some point because they have forgotten what the told you previously.
