OVERCOMING THE IMPOSSIBLLE
I never could guess how my life could change
within a split second. How within mo ments I could be
celebrat ing a high po int in my life and wit h just a blink
of my eyes my excitement comes to a sudden end. It
was my sixteenth birthday and as I always ima gined
this day as a young girl… I was a princess. Everything
was perfect! Unfortunately, I learned that all good
things must come to an end. The celebrat ion of my
birthday ended with the unt imely and unfair loss of my
best friend, my advisor, my grandfather. When my
grandfather passed away I was angry. I couldn’t understand how God could take him out my life before we
could do everyt hing we planned. I would never get to
talk to him about college or my adventures in law
school. I was disappointed in myself for not taking
more time wit h him, I felt like I could’ve pressed for
more. As I felt a strong negat ivit y grow over me, I
could feel myself changing into someone that just
wasn’t me. I didn’t think my grandfather would be
happy wit h how I was handling the experience. All these years he taught me how to be posit ive, smart and
have confidence. I learned how to turn a negat ive into a
posit ive, how to look at the brighter side because of
him. I am blessed to say I have both of my parents in
my life, two sets of grandparents, and a great-mother
all which I have a strong relationship wit h. Though my
