NEW EQUIPMENT NEWS
The new SANY SY210C-9 excavator features a six-cylinder in-line water-cooled Cummins 6BT5.9-C140 engine, with a rated engine power of 140hp at 2 000rpm, and a maximum torque of 571Nm at 1 300rpm. The engine is matched perfectly to the hydraulic system, thanks to the proprietary Dynamic Optimisation Matching Control System( DOMCS) developed by SANY.
The advanced control system not only boosts operating efficiency by 6 %, but slashes fuel consumption by 10 %, reducing the total cost of ownership, Andre Steenkamp, general manager of the SANY range under GEM, points out.
The 21t SANY excavator enhances GEM’ s total product offering, which includes small and large equipment for industries as diverse as construction, mining, agriculture, sand and stone, forestry, roadworks, and plant hire sectors.
The matched auto-idle speed function is designed for increasing fuel efficiency even further, while ensuring maximum stability during idling for smooth operation. Variable working modes include heavyduty, standard, light-duty, and break, which enhances the versatility of the excavator in different working environments.
Additional‘ smart’ features include an advanced GPRS monitoring system and machine alerts to allow for proactive monitoring of engine hours, fuel usage, and location history. The upgraded undercarriage has a unique X-shaped structure in terms of its lateral beams for extra strength and rigidity, excellent torsion, and bending-resistant performance.
The main differentiator for SANY in the local market is highly competitive pricing for this global brand, supplemented by increased parts-holding and full in-field service and technical back-up through GEM’ s national branch structure. In addition, SANY equipment has been engineered specifically for African operating conditions, focusing on enhanced durability, fuel-efficiency, user-friendliness, and reliability.
Liebherr’ s LTM 1250-5.1 is ready for industrial and assembly work. The mobile crane was officially handed over to Paulo Simonsen, managing director of the Brazilian company Montcalm Montagens Industriais S / A, at the customer days held at the Liebherr plant in Ehingen. Montcalm will use its new 250-tonne crane exclusively for the company’ s own jobsites.
Operating across the Brazilian territory, Montcalm offers fully integrated engineering, civil, and electromechanical construction solutions in various sectors such as oil and gas, cement, steel and paper plants, in the fertiliser industry, petrochemical plants, the textile industry, and infrastructure.
The company carries out both the construction of full new plants as well as refurbishment and maintenance work of all types. The new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 will immediately be sent to its first job as soon as it arrives in Brazil: assembly work at the Sergipe Thermoelectric Power Plant located in Barra dos Coqueiros, the construction plant conducted by General Electric( GE).
“ High-quality durable machines like Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes are very important to us. Our LTM 1200 / 1 built in 2002 is still very reliable and powerful today,” says Simonsen. The fleet also includes an LR 1400 / 2, two LTR 1220s, and an LTR 1100 from Liebherr. In total, the São Paulo-based company employees 3 000 people.
More features for Cat D8T dozer
The latest Cat D8T dozer is designed to move more material in less time, at a lower cost per ton, for a faster return on equipment investment. The bulldozer features an all-new fully automatic transmission, delivering up to 18 % more productivity without consuming more fuel, as well as unprecedented ease of operation. Added blade capacity, increased power and steering performance, and a full range of technology options help customers realise more productivity and a faster payback.
In lighter applications, customers can expect to see up to 11 % fuel savings compared to doing the same work with the previous model.
Much of the productivity gain comes from a new Caterpillardesigned fully automatic 4-speed transmission. The powertrain continuously optimises the dozer for maximum power and greatest efficiency based on the load. Operators of varying experience levels can get the most from the dozer without having to manage gear shifts as there is no need for the operator to upshift / downshift. The added gear and seamless lock-up clutch engagement ensure smooth shifting.
The Semi-Universal( SU) blade capacity has been increased by 19 %. At 10.3 cubic metres, the largest SU blade in the size class finishes jobs in fewer passes. Optional patented Performance Cutting Edges increase blade payload by up to 25 % versus standard cutting edges, especially in hard / frozen ground or heavily compacted materials. Powered by a Cat C15 ACERT engine, the new D8T offers class-leading 354 net horsepower( 264kW). Drawbar power is increased by up to 13 %. A 10 % increase in steering torque, fully automatic transmission, and differential steering combine to provide best-in-class steering performance under load, according to Caterpillar.
Like all Cat dozers, the D8T is designed for easy routine maintenance with features like grouped service points and a ground-level service centre. New cartridge fuel filters, longer engine oil service intervals, and standard programmable automatic reversing fan help save maintenance time. In lighter applications, customers can expect to see up to 11 % fuel savings compared to doing the same work with the previous model.
Cat HDXL with DuraLink— offers up to 25 % more wear life in abrasive conditions to help reduce maintenance time and overall cost. More robust structures provide the added durability to handle the increased weight and productivity.
The D8T is available in Standard and Low Ground Pressure
( LGP) configurations, as well as purpose-built Waste and Stockpile arrangements. A variety of blades and track shoe types / widths allows each machine to be optimised for performance in specific applications. Source: Heavy Equipment Guide
