Barloworld Equipment distribution facility
As part of the 90-year Caterpillar and Barloworld Equipment partnership , Barloworld Equipment has co-located its warehouse facilities to a new distribution facility , which became fully operational in July 2017 . The facility boasts an electronic tracking system that will reduce queues for customers and keep them abreast of their order when they come to the facility to collect spare parts .
The access-controlled 60 000m 2 facility combines areas for both Caterpillar and Barloworld Equipment , with Barloworld occupying a surface of 3 500m 2 . As the official and exclusive distributor of Caterpillar products in southern Africa , Barloworld Equipment will be operating the customerfacing portion of the new facility , which will be known as Barloworld Equipment Johannesburg , independently from Caterpillar . The two companies plan to invest in the development of other similar facilities across the region .
