NEW EQUIPMENT news
EvoQuip has launched a new addition to its impact crushing range: the versatile, fuel-efficient Cobra 230 impact crusher, suitable for construction and demolition, asphalt recycling, quarrying, and contract crushing. According to Matt Dickson, EvoQuip product line director, the quick set-up times, simple intuitive operation, and ease of transport make this machine an ideal solution for all applications. The user-friendly hydraulic assist, which comes standard, allows the operator to adjust crusher settings easily without tools. Powered by a fuel-efficient, high-performing direct-drive system, the Cobra 230’ s compact footprint makes it ideal for working in urban areas. Groundlevel access to the engine, hydraulics, service, and refuelling points, along with hinged radiator pack and hinged diesel tank, ensure easy maintenance.
The Martin Tracker Reversing, a new powered conveyor belt tracker from Martin
Engineering, delivers immediate and continuous precision adjustment of hard-totrack reversing conveyors, helping to reduce spillage and extending the life of belts and other system components. The unit, which can run on 110V / 220V power or a plant’ s existing compressed air, can effectively centre the belt regardless of travel direction, and has greater durability and longer service life than previous designs. The Roll Generator has been designed to serve as a self-contained mini power station, with the tracker using an electric actuator to move the rolls and correct the belt’ s position. The Martin Tracker Reversing is available in Lower Units for installation on the return side of the belt and Upper Units for use on the conveyor’ s carrying side.
Bosch Rexroth introduces new hydraulic filter elements
Drive and control specialist Bosch Rexroth has introduced its new PURE POWER range of hydraulic filter elements, incorporating new materials that enhance filtration performance for hydraulic systems while reducing operating costs through increased service life.
Available in sub-Saharan Africa through Hytec Fluid Technology, the new range has been designed using new micro-glass material that, due to the very small diameter of the fibres, increases interstitial spaces in the same given area to trap and retain 50 % more contaminant particles than the range it is replacing. This means overall reduced cost of filter elements, their disposal and associated labour, as well as equipment downtime.“ Hydraulic fluid contamination remains the primary cause of system failures, with over 80 % of all hydraulic system failures due to contaminated fluid, so the need to optimise filtration performance is vital,” explains Sandor Bottyan, general manager at Hytec Fluid Technologies( HFT).“ The new PURE POWER filter elements draw on state-of-the-art materials technology and Bosch Rexroth’ s extensive industry experience to deliver long service life and optimum performance in a broad spectrum of industry applications.”
The ß-values of the new PURE POWER filter material have exceeded 1 000 in real world tests— significantly higher than the ß-value exceeding
200 requirements of ISO 16889:2008— maximising system availability as hydraulic fluids are cleaned. It also prevents damage to the system and further contamination by removing a high proportion of the contaminants in the first pass through the filter.
The manufacturer has fitted all elements in its range with an additional antistatic conductive woven filter medium as standard, creating a charge exchange between oil and filter material and so, reducing the risk of electrostatic charge and discharge in the filter.
Filtration efficiency is even more effective when used with Rexroth filter housings with patented Cycloclean cyclone technology, where a doubling in dirt-holding capacity has been measured according to the ISO 16889 multi-pass test, while retention capability using the same test increases tenfold. This is a direct result of the cyclone design maximising filter capacity by effectively pre-filtering the fluid.
PURE POWER filter elements provide up to 50 % more dirt-holding capacity than older Bosch Rexroth filters, and are built standard with a conductive layer.
