NEW EQUIPMENT NEWS Caterpillar is adding the new Cat C13B 12.5ℓ engine to its industrial engine range. The engine will leverage a proven, reliable core of components with over 68 million hours of real-world experience and complementary technology to the C9.3B platform that was launched in 2016 and is nearing production. The six-cylinder engine combines upgraded air, electrical and aftertreatment systems to produce a range of powers from 340kW to 430kW and up to 2640Nm of torque out of a package that is 30% lighter than previous models at these performance levels. The C13B will be offered in a number of configurations. Engine mounted afterteatment (EMAT) and full Industrial Power Unit (IPU) configurations are offered out of the factory in Texas, US, while remote mounted aftertreatment is also possible. JLG Industries has partnered with Continental to provide JLG customers with the TeleMaster solution: a solid, flat-proof tyre designed to meet the specific demands of telehandlers. Available as an option on select JLG and SkyTrak telehandlers, the three- layer TeleMaster is made of highly specialised rubber compounds that work together to offer a comfortable ride, excellent traction, and longer service life for lower total cost of ownership. The tyre’s inner layer combines damping properties with a low rolling resistance value, which contributes to a comfortable ride, reduced delamination, and low heat build-up for reduced wear. Reinforced sidewalls protect against punctures and cuts, and the tyre’s non-directional tread pattern means fewer assembly combinations and reduced inventory carrying costs. TeleMaster tyres also feat ure a distinctive centre rib. The circumferential rib tread pattern ensures high traction in both directions and promotes self-cleaning when used on sites with mud or gravel. High-efficiency vibrators from Martin Engineering the market and is able to fit most existing brackets. The unit has a specially designed mounting base with three holes on each of the four legs, which permits selection of four different mounting patterns. With a 254mm pigtail cord ending in a two-prong plug, the unit fits most truck electrical systems. n reduces demand on the vehicle’s electrical system. Weighing only 8kg, the unit features a more compact design than comparable vibrators on greater durability, and the GSV520 features a redesigned bushing at the hinge point. Also, solid-hinge-point construction and more robust end stops further promote durability, and a solid-pin design keeps mounting brackets in an upright position for ease of installation. The GSV520 also features a standard lifting eye on the bottom of the housing for expanded versatility, such as mounting a magnet, as well as the new HR rotator that reduces internal restrictions and results in lower fuel consumption. n Compatible with most standard brackets, the Cougar MDC12- 400/700 vibrators offer powerful bulk material movement for concrete pump trucks, salt/sand/gravel/fertiliser spreader trucks, and volumetric mixer trucks. The new 12 VDC vibrator delivers superior performance with long- lasting reliability. Cat’s new GSV520 grapple. Martin Engineering has introduced a 12 VDC electric vibrator that combines superior performance with long-lasting reliability to improve material flow in specialised hauling and distribution vehicles. Cougar MDC12-400/700 vibrators offer powerful bulk material movement for concrete pump trucks, salt/ sand/gravel/fertiliser spreader trucks, and volumetric mixer trucks and can be retrofitted to most standard brackets. The high-efficiency design uses less current and runs at a lower temperature, while retaining the same power as comparable models, resulting in longer equipment life with lower operating and maintenance costs. Powered by a high efficiency 12-volt DC motor with a maximum draw of 13 amps, the oversized permanent magnet design of the MDC12 vibrators FEBRUARY 2018 9
