The Seed was Planted Kindness is the Key

During 11 years of jewelry sales, Amy discovered that some women did not feel empowered in their lives.Amy explained, “I would always say that jewelry is like a superhero cape; when you put a piece of jewelry on and you look in the mirror –if you look good, you feel good. And when a woman feels good there’s no stopping her. Stuff gets done.”

One day, while she was contemplating the “jewelry is your superhero cape” concept, Amy had an epiphany: we all have the power to be a superhero and to make the world a better place just by being kind.

Forget the notion that vanity has a place here, it doesn’t. This is about a woman taking time for herself, a chance to recharge that feminine mojo.

That is how the A Girl With A Cape story-line came about. It was such a powerful thought that Amy knew it would resonate with others. People only needed to realize that by celebrating kindness, compassion and generosity, you no longer have time to think negative thoughts about anything or anyone… including yourself.

Breast Cancer Returns
In December of 2004, two days before Christmas, Amy’s sister Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer.
