It is Amy’s intention to have this event grow over the next five years and raise $100k for the local non-profits. “I want to see people filling out the nomination forms [for others in need] left and right,” she said with the enthusiasm only someone who has seen how important these types of groups are to families in crisis.

Each year the event will highlight different honorees. Superhero in Leopard Print What do you call a person who balances a career, family, friends, the home, and a pet? A Superhero Mom! At her speaking engagements, Amy likes to share the acronym C.A.P.E. which stands for “Create A Positive Environment.” It is her belief that moms can impact others because they are always someone’s environment. “And when I get to go and share that message with other women, it is fantastic!”
A Superhero Needs a Sidekick A good superhero needs at least one sidekick. Amy has two:
• Vince Logan, her husband, teaches law enforcement at Indian Valley Vocational Center in Sandwich. He also does the website for GotYourCape.com • Rich Green, an artist, does all of the wonderful illustrations. (richgreenart.com)
Visit GotYourCape.com to order your books. Profits from the third book (Pink Cape) will go to support local non-profit outreach groups at the end of each year.
