Vol. 3 | Issue 3 | Summer 2018
Dear Readers,
Summer is winding down and you are likely looking ahead to autumn. This is a great time of year for many reasons. For me, the kids
are back in school, hunting season is upon us, and I get to have some really great conversations with clients about year-end tax planning
strategies. This year, the latter is of particular importance.
From the adoption of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to the historic South Dakota v. Wayfair decision, we’ve seen a lot of significant changes
this year. The articles we’ve included in this edition of Plain & Simple will shine some light on these changes while providing you with
some insight into how, with a little planning, you can still come out on top.
Manufacturing Education Day
We continue to be committed to helping you achieve success in all aspects of your business. To that end, we are thrilled to invite you
to our second annual Manufacturing Education Day, held in conjunction with National Manufacturing Day 2018.
I want to stress that the information we will cover is essential to all business owners. Therefore, you don’t have to be a manufacturer
to attend this educational event. Whether you are a retailer who is looking for some great insight from industry experts or you have
pressing accounting or finance questions related to your business or any manner of business in between, we would like you to join us.
Manufacturing Education Day will take place 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Comfort Suites Hotel & Conference
Center, 4810 TR 366, Berlin. The event is free to attend, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
I’ve had a lot of great conversations with many of you over the last year. So when it came time to choose the topics for this year’s
Manufacturing Education Day event, I drew on those conversations for inspiration. These topics are not only relevant and timely, they
are sure to reveal growth opportunities in your business. From human resources and accounting to banking and finance, this year’s
presenters are authorities in their respective fields. You are sure to leave with a wealth of information and a trove of ideas to take back
and put to work. Over the course of the day, you will learn about:
•
•
•
•
Bank Relationships & Financing Structure (Doug Houser)
Resources For Ensuring Competitive Compensation Strategies To Attract & Retain Employees (Renee West)
Do Your Results Match Your Perceived Cost Structure? (Andrew Geiser)
Why Outsourcing May Be Right For You (Maura Zace)
