PLAIN AND SIMPLE Bright Business Insights Vol. 3 | Issue 4 | Fall 2018 Dear Readers, Over the last several years, I’ve had the honor of leading our firm’s manufacturing team. It’s been an exciting career path and I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot and meet so many great people along the way. I’ve recently taken on a new role as regional president of Rea & Associates’ East Central Ohio Region, and I now have the responsibility and opportunity to oversee the operations of our Millersburg, New Philadelphia and Wooster offices. Our manufacturing practice is our firm’s largest industry niche, and it needs a leader who can focus on it 100 percent. So, I’m happy to announce that I have passed the torch to Dustin Raber. Dustin is a familiar face to many of you and, as of Nov. 1, has been serving as director of manufacturing services. Honestly, I couldn’t think of a better fit. Rest assured, however, that it is business as usual on our end. The team remains intact – Dustin and I will continue to work together closely – and we look forward to continuing our tradition of providing you with the excellent service and insight you have come to expect. A Special Thanks In October, we hosted our second annual Rea Manufacturing Education Day in conjunction with National Manufacturing Day 2018. I want to thank everyone who attended this event. Not only did we have more attendees than last year, we had wonderful participation and takeaways. In fact, we are already looking forward to next year’s event, which is typically held the first Friday in October. If you would like us to zero in on a specific topic, please let us know. As we plan future events, we want to make sure that the information you receive is valuable and relevant to your business. While we were blown away by the attendance of our event, we know there were many who were unable to join us. In addition, we received quite a few questions and comments pertaining to the topics that were covered. We wanted to take the time to answer your questions and elaborate on several topics. In this edition of Plain & Simple, you will find some great pieces about banking relationships, employee retention, cost structure, client advisory services, succession planning and more.
