What is Math Advantage?
Math Advantage is PLA’s math program to support math achievement for all scholars. Teachers use assessment data to create small groups of scholars with similar needs. Teachers utilize Math Catalyst lessons to teach groups of scholars who are in need of support in specific areas. Teachers use Tier 1 materials to extend thinking for scholars who are at or above expectations.
Math classrooms dedicate 40 minutes daily to math small group instruction. Each teacher will teach two 20 minute groups during this time block. Scholars who are not working with a teacher during this time participate in math independent structures to practice mathematical skills.
