Pirates Road Running is thrilled that we are still able

to host the 43rd edition of our 21km race this year , however in a different format . Yes , we ’ re doing things differently for 2021 , but this won ’ t be your average ‘ virtual run ’. That ’ s because we can ’ t give you a medal for ‘ Joburg ’ s toughest 21 ’ unless you ’ ve been Over The Mountain ! You can run any 21km route but we would like to challenge you to run our iconic race route and earn that t-shirt .
In difficult times such as these we realise just how important our health is to us , not only our physical health but our mental health too . Without having any races to look forward to or train towards , it can be very demotivating . That ’ s why Pirates wants to encourage and challenge every runner out there to “ Get A Move On ” and run Over The Mountain in your own time this February . Let ’ s conquer Northcliff hill in a safe , healthy and responsible way . It ’ s the small wins which we need to take advantage of so get out there and give it your best shot !
Come through to the club after your run and collect your race pack between 8am and 10am every Saturday and Sunday in February . Please join us for some legendary Pirates hospitality out on the deck whilst enjoying some well-deserved refreshments .
Special thanks to our sponsor Medshield Medical scheme , without their partnership we would not be able to make this event as great as it is .
We look forward to hosting you in February and hope you will be back in 2022 when we hope to host this event in its standard format once again .
Until then , keep fit , safe and healthy and good luck with your race !
Yours in running

Natalie Mills
