ESSENTIAL RACE INFO
This is the 44 th running of the Pirates 21K with very few route changes over the years .
• The race starts and finishes at Pirates Club , 25 Braeside Road , Greenside
• The race is an open staggered start timed mat to mat and runners can start any time between 05h30 and 06h00 .
• Elite runners or any runner hoping to qualify for a category prize need to start with the gun at 05h30 .
• The race is pre-entry only as numbers are limited . No race day entries .
• There is only a 21km distance option , with the route being a single-lapper up and over Northcliff Hill .
• All finishers will receive a medal – first 10 will receive gold , anyone under 1h30 earn silver and all other finishers receive bronze .
• Non-licensed runners need to ensure they have a temp license , otherwise they will be disqualified .
• There is a 3h30 cut-off and runners not finishing within the time may be withdrawn from the course .
• No club gazebos distributing or cooking food will be allowed at the finish this year to comply with Covid protocols .
REGISTRATION & COLLECTION INFO
• Number collection takes place on : o Friday 18 February between 12h00 and 18h00 o Saturday 10h00 and 16h00 o Sunday 04h30 and 05h15
• All participants have been advised that they would either need to be fully vaccinated or be in possession of a negative Covid test .
• Please bring your vaccination card or barcode with you , as well as valid proof of identification such as an ID document or passport , so your vaccination can be verified .
• If you are not vaccinated please bring a valid PCR or Rapid Antigen test of no older than 72 hours and valid proof of identification , such as an ID book or passport .
• Rapid Antigen tests will be made available at the club for a discounted fee of R100 by Total Covid Solutions on Friday 18 February and Saturday 19 February . Results will be available in 20 minutes .
• You can then proceed into the clubhouse where you will be able to collect your number , t-shirt if you qualified for one , and goodie bag .
• If you are collecting on someone ’ s behalf you will need to bring with you : o A signed letter from the entrant stating the name and ID number of the person collecting the entry o The fully completed vaccination card or a valid negative PCR or Antigen test of the person you are collecting for . o A copy of the ID book or passport of the person you are collecting for .
• For substitutions please bring along : o A letter from the original entrant with their contact details , stating the name and ID number of the person taking over the entry o A fully completed vaccination card or a valid negative PCR or Antigen test of the person taking over the entry . o A copy of the ID book or passport of the person taking over the entry . o There will be NO SUBSTUTIONS ON SUNDAY 20 February
