Introduction
The World Council of Peoples for the United Nations( WCPUN) is a nongovernmental organization in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information. The Symposium on Sustainable Development and Luxury Goods is the first of its kind to be held under the auspices of WCPUN. Spanning over the course of five years, with events in New York, Paris, Dubai, and Shanghai, the Symposium will examine the future of luxury, charting a course towards sustainability. The launch event, to be held in September, 2016, will bring together representatives of the Luxury Industry with representatives of diverse sectors, including Academia, Media, Diplomacy, Local Authorities. Non-Governmental Organizations, Arts, and Entertainment.
The following document, prepared by students of the ESGCI( Ecole Supérieure de Gestion et Commerce International) in Paris, with whom WCPUN has been collaborating since 2012, describes the rationale of the event, and suggests strategies for sponsorship. The proposal emphasizes a participative approach and offers different modalities and benefits at various levels of sponsorship. Recognizing the primacy of ecological challenges in today’ s world, this endeavor offers an opportunity for transformative leadership and collaborative action.
