FROM CHRIS
YOUNG ’90,
PRESIDENT, BOARD
OF TRUSTEES
Chuck Baldecchi has provided 15 years of wonderful
leadership to The Lexington School. When he
arrived in 2004, the school had recently experienced
a period of much transition in the Head’s position
and needed stable leadership. Chuck, as always, met
these challenges head-on. He worked conscientiously
to recruit and retain strong division leaders, stabilized
enrollment, and worked diligently to put the school
on a path of growth. His love for children and their
education guided his decisions throughout his tenure.
Chuck’s volunteer work in national educational
organizations helped elevate our profile, and allowed
Chuck to bring ideas and best practices back to TLS.
He leaves TLS in fantastic condition. Our
enrollment is at 600 students. The new construction
project will transform the campus, and has been made
a reality in part due to Chuck’s fundraising prowess.
Financially, the school is on sound footing. Finally, and
perhaps most importantly, Una MacCarthy has already
proven she is ready to step into the Head’s position
after Chuck’s departure.
It has been a great pleasure to work with Chuck during
my time on the TLS board, and I wish his family and
him great success. The Baldecchis will be missed.
