Alternatives to Self Harm

-Scribble funny things on people in a magazine.

- Tear apart paper. It’ll make you feel much better.

- Go to the gym and dance and exercise.

-Splatter paint.

- Write your feelings and then drench them in water and rip them. Or burn them.

-Slash across an empty piece of cardboard with a blade.

- Run your hands and arms under cold water.

- Take a hot shower.

- Crush ice.

- Meditate while listening to the rain.

- Hug a toy or pillow.

- Light a candle and watch the flame.

- Let yourself cry.

- Tell yourself,

“I don’t deserve to be hurt until you believe it.”
