top table and the remainder of our 90 guests around the
room. We named each of the tables after our favourite
Yankee candle names, as we both love candles; with names
like ‘Snow in Love’, ‘Christmas Memories’ and ‘Serengeti
Sunset’, many guests couldn’t guess the theme! For
favours, we hand made an individual salted caramel and
pistachio candle for each guest, which everybody loved.
Our speeches were very eventful, especially from
Graeme, James’ best man. He had our guests (and us!)
joining in a pantomime song, with the two sides of the
room competing against each other. It was great fun and an
epic way to remember the speeches.
Our guests loved our day and many commented on the
level of detail and the thought we had taken over it all, from
handmade confetti on the table, our bespoke cake which had

candles included in its design, and our first dance taking place
at 8.40pm (the exact time we had met three years before), to
the many other personal touches throughout the day. We
were told many times that it was all very ‘us’! Being wedding
planners with a passion for the finer details (and both being
very meticulous) we considered our guests in every decision
we made. It’s all about the detail, detail, detail!
One of our favourite touches was to hire Harriet
Riddell from In Stitch You who was with us all day and sat
with her sewing machine, stitching our wedding day as it
was happening. She presented her amazing creation to us
at the end of the day.
We wanted to include our friends and family as much as
we could, especially as they’re so talented. We had help
