sentiments to our vows. We walked down the aisle to Rule
the World by Take That – extremely cheesy but we loved it.
Actually we wanted it to be Tale as Old as Time from
Beauty and the Beast but it wasn’t long enough... And we
walked out to Blink 182’s All the Small Things.
I
wore a mint-green beaded floor length gown that I
saw in John Lewis but was actually from (shhhh!)
Miss Selfridge. Hannah wore a metallic cropped top
from Coast and had a stone blue skirt made by a
fabulous seamstress on Etsy. The whole lot cost less
than £300 and everyone said we looked gorgeous.
Our families walked down the aisle ahead of us, then our
best people and we two walked down on our own. Watching
Hannah walk down the aisle and then saying our vows was
just the most amazing experience. We were both cry-
laughing and just a little bit hysterical. It was more romantic
than it sounds, honestly! It was absolutely fantastic.
My brother read a poem and Hannah’s brother’s
partner read a section from His Dark Materials by Philip
Pullman. We are all nerds! Every single one of us.
One of our dear friends made our wedding rings. We met
Lauren through roller derby and she really is an amazingly
talented designer – http://laurengracejewellery.com/. Each
ring is made from eco gold. We designed them with her so
they’re thicker at the top than at the bottom. They
symbolise weathering the ups and downs to come in our
lives and mean so much to us.
