THE SOUTH AFRICAN
NATIONAL RUGBY TEAM
by Pablo Serrano Luque
South Africa´s national rugby team has
won two world rugby cups and they
have also won the three nations cup
three times. It´s a historical team
and they have had good results
since 1995.
In 1995, the South African national
rugby team won their first world cup.
François Pienaar was the captain, an important
part of the history of the team. The most interesting
thing was that it was the first time South Africa
played and they won it! They won the other world
cup in 2007.
They are called the Springboks and they wear a
green and yellow uniform. The current coach is
Heyneke Meyer, and the most important player
of the team is John Smith.
Nelson Mandela and François Pienaar, 1995.
