The Southside Crimson Panthers
have won 22 games and backto-back region championships in
the last two seasons. Southside’s
program is expected to be in

will lead the 2015 edition of the
Panthers. Fifth-year starter Hunter
Armstrong (6’1, 230 Sr.) is back
at middle linebacker and will also
play some at QB, H-back, and will
again be the starting punter. Junior
tailback Alaric Williams (6’2, 210)
is one of the top junior running
backs in the nation. In July, he
gave his verbal commitment to
play college football at Auburn and
will rejoin his former Southside
teammate, Tyler Carr. Starting QB
Greyson Daugherty returns for his
senior season and will play at free
safety also. Tristan Shaw (6’1, 195
Jr.) will contribute in the backfield

Matt Gilliland (6’3, 295) to lead
the of fensive line.
Names to remember on defense
include linebackers Austin Brewer
(5’8, 185 Sr.) on the outside and
Dakota Harcrow (6’1, 225 Sr.)
on the inside. Harcrow started
at defensive end last season.
Dakota Dunn will start at one
defensive end and junior Austin
Winningham will join Daugherty
at the other safety. Coach
Daugherty says though his team is
inexperienced in spots, they have
a great work ethic. He believes
every team in the Panthers’ region
was young last year and every one
of those teams will be better in
2015.
COACH RON DAUGHERTY...
“We’ve got a chance to
be competitive if we have
some kids step up that have
never been in their situation
before.”
