Hokes Bluff improved from 1-9 in 2013 to 3-7 last year and the Eagles are looking to take another step forward in 2015. The numbers, as always, are good at the Bluff with 64 players on the roster heading into the start of fall practice. Those numbers include 12 seniors and four returning starters on each side of the ball. Key returnees for the Eagles include the backfield combination of tailback Cam Downey and fullback Trey Hutchins, and offensive lineman Levi Nunnally. The strength of this Eagle team should be the secondary, where three of four starters return, led by corners Hayes Evans and Bradley Pruett and strong safety Fisher Simmons. Pruett is also an excellent placekicker/punter and should be one of the top kickers in the area. Returning starter Adam Patterson bolsters the defensive front, is the long snapper, and will play along the offensive line as well. Eagle Coach Mike Robertson says the Bluff had a good spring with few injuries, including a jamboree win over West End. Robertson notes that the upcoming junior class is very good with 20 plus players and good talent. Coach Robertson points to Cleburne County, Saks, Jacksonville, and an improved Cherokee County team as the top teams in Class 4A, Region 6. SCHEDULE 8/27 Southside.................
