Next Step Ministries is a community leader in the prevention of domestic violence. Located in Kernersville, NC, they advocate on behalf of victims and offer a number of resources including shelter, food and clothing for the victim and her children. Next Step has a safe house, support groups and offers assistance with employment and permanent housing.

Next Step is asking for items for their safe house. Donated items for the Safe House can be dropped off at the thrift store, located at 955 Hwy 66 South, Kernersville, NC. Donations are accepted Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.

In addition to donating items to the safe house (see list below),contributions of money, clothing, food and office supplies are also welcome.

While you're there, do some shopping! The Next Step Thrift shop has a great selection of furniture, household items, clothing, books and more. It's "a cross between a boutique and a thrift store." Great prices and the people are very friendly. Hours are Monday -Saturday 10am - 5pm; 10am-6pm (Thursdays only). Thrift Store phone number is 336-993-0630.

Next Step has many volunteer opportunities such as volunteering at the Thrift Store or transporting residents to appointments, job interviews, etc. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and to complete the Volunteer Agreement and Application form go to their website. There are several local organizations that sponsor charity events for Next Step Ministries. On October 22, 2016 the Piedmont Club will host a Denim & Diamonds Theme Party to benefit Next Step.

You can also Cruise for Charity! Cruise the Carnival Ecstasy on October 15 for 5 nights to the Bahamas roundtrip from Charleston and $25 for every person sailing will be donated to Next Step Ministries. Bookings must be made through Dream Vacations. Call Scott Rader at 336-766-3600.
