Welcome to the first edition of our digital magazine for Piedmont Triad Living!
The Piedmont Triad is home for 1.6 million people and is comprised of twelve counties - Alamance, Caswell, Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin. Located halfway between New York and Florida, halfway between Washington DC and Atlanta GA, and halfway between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, the Piedmont Triad is an attractive place to live, laugh, love, play, shop - and visit.
I'm a Mom with two school age girls. Six years ago, I started searching for FREE things to do with them. While there are lots of local resources for events and activities in the Piedmont Triad, none had a specific focus of free family events in the area. I realized this information was something other families might also be looking for, and I created the Piedmont Triad Living facebook page.
Next came the blog. It became my place to share more as we explored our region. The Piedmont Triad is so rich in culture and history! The blog was my space to talk about the place I love to call home. In addition, it became my venue for sharing support of small local businesses and artists.
In 2013, I built piedmonttriadliving.com. As the brand expanded it became an important resource for not only those that are local, but also those that are new to the area and those that are visiting. The website includes information and links to such things as local newpapers, Arts Councils, Chambers of Commerce, Visitors bureaus, Cooperative Extensions, Wiki Pages, links to social media pages for each county, resources for eating locally and organically at farms and farmers markets, info about vineyards, wineries and breweries in the Piedmont Triad, and a complete listing of parks & recreation, public gardens and NC Historic Sites in the Piedmont Triad.
