I love Spring don’ t you? Every year I look forward to the awakening of the earth and the explosion of colors that takes place. I’ ve memorized which flowers bloom and in what order. First the Crocus, Daffodil, Hyacinth, Tulips and then Iris. The Spring bushes. Forsythia and Lilac join in the chorus as well. Not to be outdone, the flowering trees tower over all. The Dogwood, Bradford Pear, Flowering Crab, Cherry, and Apple all show off their buds as if to say,“ We’ ve been preparing for this all Winter. It’ s time for us to shine.”
My delight and fascination with Spring blooms began when I was ten years old. Our family built a home at the end of a long lane in a woods.
My great grandmother, or Granny as we called her would come visit that first spring and take me through the woods teaching me all the names of the wildflowers popping up through the dead leaves.
