Younger years
When I was young my dad told me various stories about his childhood and my
uncle. One story I particularly liked here it is……..
My dad and his family (except his mom) where going to go over to eastern
Oregon and go mule deer hunting. One thing about eastern Oregon is that there
are a lot of rattle snakes over there. Now they had just got back from that days
hunt and my dad decided to play a trick on my uncle. My dad and my uncle where
sharing a tent so it was easier to play it on my uncle. He said he was going to the
bathroom but he was really finding a rattle snake to cut the tail off of. He found
one and headed back to camp. Now all he had to do was waiting for night to
come.
Once everyone settled down for the night my dad busted out the rattle snake tail.
He started rattling it then my uncle woke up and asked what that was. My dad
acted like he was asleep. He did that twice more. Then he did and tossed the
rattle snake tail on my uncle when he turned over. He jumped out of his slapping
bag and tore the tent in half trying to get out of it. My dad laughed so hard he
said his abs hurt after word.
