Make Silhouettes
Work for You
The silhouette is a most effective exposure tool
that works especially well at dusk. The trick is to
set up your exposure based on the sky. In the shot, I
wanted to emphasize the crimson colors over Cape
May. By doing so, the figures are simplified to shape
and form. Without properly exposed faces, the
theme becomes less personal, and more universally
recognized. A moment between a father and son is
something most people can relate to.
