NOT USING
ENOUGH
DEPTH
OF FIELD
If you’re photographing a group of people,
you may have trouble keeping everyone in
focus. At apertures like f2.8, the depth of field
is too shallow. This means that the people
in the front may be sharp, but those in the
back will be out of focus. Knowing this, you
can deliberately choose a smaller aperture
opening such as f8. This creates greater
depth of field, keeping everyone sharp
throughout the frame.
