LETTING
THE
CAMERA
DECIDE
The automatic mode is not doing you any
favors. In fact, it most likely is the root of
your issues with blurry photos. Allowing
the camera to choose your shutter speed is
like handing your ATM card to a stranger.
You’ll get lucky on occasion, but chances
are, you’ll be disappointed. There is a simple
workaround to alleviate this issue entirely.
Set your camera to the manual exposure
mode and select a shutter speed no slower
than 1/125. This is fast enough to prevent
camera shake while also stopping motion.
If the subject is moving quicker, double the
shutter speed to 1/250, 1/500, or 1/1000.
