Vatic Pro

Vatic Pro got into the paddle battle in a big way. It’ s another successful small company and, like 11SIX24, was started by a young man with a finance degree. Daryl Wang, now 28, graduated from New York University in 2019 and started his own business doing education consulting. His parents are from Shanghai, but Wang was born, raised and still lives in Irvine, California.
As a new pickleball player in 2022, he says,“ I felt there was a genuine need for affordable top-tier carbon fiber paddles. There was a desperate need for a $ 99 carbon fiber paddle that played well. Nothing at the time was close to what we had.”
Wang, working only with his father, says he did deep market research.“ I had tried almost every relevant paddle on the market at the time, and we wanted something that would be a step up.”
He adds,“ We don’ t have an agent or middleman, which allows us to save drastically on the cost of our paddles, and this value is given back directly to our customers. We started an ambassador program early on that has grown quite significantly, and word of mouth is a big deal for us. We run standard SEO ads and ads on our Amazon store.” The Vatic Pro Prism Flash quickly became a favorite of beginner and intermediate recreational players— often recommended by instructors— and reviewers praise the paddle’ s quality, price and control. Vatic Pro’ s most expensive paddles cost $ 129.99.
Wang won’ t release revenue figures, but when asked if it’ s safe to say he’ s doing well financially, he replies,“ Yes, and I am very grateful for all the opportunities this sport has provided.”
