Melissa McCurley Cammy MacGregor Chris Miller
A former U. S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, Melissa McCurley was inducted for her longtime contributions to the sport, including the ownership and growth of PickleballTournaments. com. She was also the first woman to commentate pickleball events on CBS Sports. Melissa is currently the Association of Pickleball Players( APP) executive vice president of competition, and serves on the Pickleball Hall of Fame’ s board of directors.
Cammy MacGregor was inducted for her prowess and longevity as a champion player. In the introduction, Cammy’ s husband, Darren, spoke about her competitiveness in everything she does— both on and off the court. Cammy had a very successful professional tennis career before focusing on pickleball, where she has won more than 20 championships. She still spends hours teaching the sport each week, including to those in prison. In her acceptance speech,
Cammy noted how pickleball has changed the lives of many people in difficult circumstances.
Chris Miller, who has more than 100 career gold medals and is a 10-time national champion, was thrilled with his induction and proud to have his longtime friend and fellow champion, Steve Dawson, introduce him. Steve mentioned several accomplishments, including the more than 400 tournament games Chris has played over 35 years. In 1,200 divisions and more than 6,000 matches, he has won 5,000 of them.
Each Hall of Famer was presented with a jacket, ring and plaque. The total number of Pickleball Hall of Fame members now stands at 36.
