Listen long enough and you ’ ll hear players talk about pushing themselves further with physical training off the courts , hoping to promote their game . What is Inflammation ?
Inflammation is part of our immune system ’ s way of healing damage to the body , whether that be from injury , microbial infection , or some other type of invader like pollution or allergens . When necessary , doctors can test for inflammation in the body by using certain blood tests .
While inflammation in the short term is normal and beneficial , prolonged or chronic inflammation can overwhelm the immune system . Studies show that chronic inflammation can interfere with the muscle growth you ’ re working toward in the gym , and over time can increase your chances of getting illnesses .
