Huntsman World Senior Games Hall of Fame Inducts Four Pickleball Players

Dick Johnson , Alice Tym , and Jim and Yvonne Hackenberg were chosen from 230,000 athletes in 86 countries .

Dick Johnson , Alice Tym , and Jim and Yvonne Hackenberg were inducted into the Huntsman World Senior Games Hall of Fame on Oct . 5 in St . George , Utah . The pickleball inductees were four of the eight athletes from 35 sports inducted that evening . The prestigious award included a beautiful glass trophy and large photo album .

Huntsman World Senior Games CEO Kyle Case said , “ The Hall of Fame recognizes the extraordinary men and women who foster the vision of the Huntsman World Senior Games . The examples of determination , teamwork , dedication , sacrifice , and excellence shown by this select group are the standards that set them apart and raise the Games to a higher level . The individuals honored with this induction are the kind of people that you want on your team when the going gets tough . Never stop over-achieving and exceeding expectations wherever you go .” There were 11,000 athletes who competed in the Huntsman World Senior Games this year . The Hall of Famers have been chosen from 230,000 players in 86 countries since the Games began 35 years ago .
The Huntsman World Senior Games is the largest annual multisport event in the world for athletes age 50 and over . Its mission is to promote world peace , friendship , and health . Two weeks of worldclass athletic competition for players over age 50 is held each year . Other wonderful events are also a part , like the opening and closing ceremonies , parade of athletes , Olympic torch lighting , concerts , special guest speakers , entertainment , and health screenings . •
