English OPEN and the European Championships
English OPEN — June 29 to July 3 at the David Lloyd Club , Southampton
This Tier 3 tournament is part of the APP Tour so there will be eight pro players taking part and there will be up to $ 10k prize money at the Elite level . There will be a championship court where the action will be livestreamed . Our first English OPEN was a huge success , with everyone saying how well it was run . All players received a schedule of play , and there was a scrolling screen showing who was currently playing on which court and who would be playing next .
With lots of age and skill brackets , efficiency entering results is important , so all scorecards had QR codes enabling the court monitors to go straight to that game and input the results , which were then immediately available for all to see .
With fantastic volunteers and friendly atmosphere , the English OPEN is a tournament you are not going to want to miss .
After that you could fly to Seville and travel on to Rota for the European Open Championship July 6-10 . Tyson McGuffin is hosting the Tier 4 tournament , which will be played on outdoor courts , and the tournament hotel is on a long , sandy beach — what ’ s not to love ? There is $ 15k prize money for the Open events .
Four Tournaments in Three Weeks
If you are looking to travel later in the year , consider attending either the French Open or Scottish Open , Aug . 25-28 , then go on to Madrid for the Spanish Open Sept . 1-4 and the Italian Open Sept . 9-11 . The Spanish Open is also on the APP Tour , so it ’ s another opportunity to watch pros play when you are not on court yourself . •
