JOCKEY MARIO PINO PINES FOR PICKLEBALL
Jockey Mario Pino recently made history when he became the 10th winningest jockey in North America , capturing his 7,000th at Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie , Pennsylvania .
When Mario and his wife , Christina , arrived in Erie , the first thing they looked for was a place to play pickleball outdoors . They discovered that Baldwin Park was the destination for the growing sport in Erie , where plans are underway to construct six additional courts .
The Erie Pickleball Players Association has approximately 160 active members and has welcomed players to Baldwin Park from as far away as Florida , North Carolina , Georgia , California , New York , and Washington state . •
